Cloud Assisted Services Conference – CLASS 2016

Clouds towards Smart Cities, Smart Energy, Intelligent Transport Systems, Advanced Manufacturing and eHealth

8-9 November 2016, Ljubljana, Slovenia


The CLASS 2016 Conference is a major regional event in Cloud computing. This year it will get together stakeholders from smart application domains such as Smart Cities, Smart Energy, Intelligent Transport Systems, Advanced Manufacturing and eHealth.

The European Cloud Initiative – Building a competitive data and knowledge economy in Europe aims to strengthen the Europe’s position in data-driven innovation, improve the competitiveness of EU countries and regions to create a Digital Single Market in Europe. In this context, the CLASS event investigates future directions in Europe for Cloud computing in the above mentioned applications domains. The aim is to foster regional and wider collaboration between industry and academia.

Cloud computing users and services providers are most welcome to present their results and elaborate their needs and their offerings – it therefore equally allows participants to promote results and products, as well as to exchange knowledge and initiate collaborations. The conference allows dedicated satellite networking and matchmaking workshops and events.

CLASS is soliciting submissions for position papers and regular research papers to be presented during the event. Post-proceedings for the quality research contributions will be organized in the International Journal of Computing and Informatics Informatica.

The Cloud Assisted Services Conference – CLASS 2016 will bring together key actors from the Cloud and Big Data worlds to discuss about related research challenges, required policies, and available technical solutions. Particular focus will be given to the presentation of the digital needs and advancements of the whole South East Europe region.

This is an open Call for Papers inviting researchers, and solutions and services providers to present their works in the above mentioned areas. The CLASS 2016 Conference intends to have a strong networking focus offering especially to small businesses and SMEs the possibility to present their work, through exhibition and networking facilities.

Nagrada EuroCloud Slovenija je namenjena ponudnikom storitev računalništva v oblaku, ki so dejavni na slovenskem trgu, in bo letos podeljena petič. Zmagovalci slovenskega tekmovanja pa bodo tekmovali v konkurenci z drugimi sodelujočimi državami evropsko EuroCloud nagrado.

Nagrado EuroCloud Slovenija podeljujeta Gospodarska zbornica Slovenije – Združenje za informatiko in telekomunikacije in Zavod e-Oblak (EuroCloud Slovenija). Cilj nagrade je spodbujanje razvoja, trženja in uporabe rešitev v oblaku.

1/ Najboljša storitev v oblaku za horizontalne trge

Ta kategorija je namenjena storitvam računalništva v oblaku,ki imajo največji tržni potencial zaradi svojih specifičnih lastnosti. Ta dodana vrednost je določena s ponujenimi zmogljivostmi kot sta povezljivost in interoperabilnost storitve ter prilagodljiva in učinkovita uporaba podatkovnih centrov. Storitev mora upoštevati najboljše prakse s poudarkom na varovanje poslovnih in osebnih podatkov. Ocenjevala se bo predvsem kreativnosti in originalnost storitve, skalabilnost glede na zahteve strank, izmenjava podatkov in reverzibilnost podatkov, informacijska varnost in varovanje osebnih podatkov.

2/ Najboljša storitev v oblaku za vertikalne trge

Ta kategorija je namenjena storitvam računalništva v oblaku,ki imajo največji tržni potencial zaradi svojih specifičnih lastnosti. Ocenjevala se bo predvsem kreativnosti in originalnost storitve, skalabilnost glede na zahteve strank, izmenjava podatkov in reverzibilnost podatkov, informacijska varnost in varovanje osebnih podatkov.

3/ Najboljša storitev v oblaku Startup podjetja

V tej kategoriji iščemo najboljše slovensko Startup podjetje z inovativnimi ter naprednimi v oblak usmerjenimi rešitvami. Ocenjevala se bo predvsem kreativnosti in originalnost storitve, skalabilnost glede na zahteve strank, izmenjava podatkov in reverzibilnost podatkov, informacijska varnost in varovanje osebnih podatkov. Posebni poudarki pri ocenjvanju bo komisija usmerila v posebne zahteve kupcev, definiranje korakov vstopanja na trg in potencila rasti na trgu.

4/ Najboljša metoda transformacije podjetij pri prehodu na storitve računalništva v oblaku

Ta kategorija je namenjena svetovalcem, ki s svojimi storitvami pomagajo podjetjem v prehodu na računalništvo v oblaku. Komisija bo ocenjevala pravilno podporo poslovnim učinkom podjetjem s strani svetovalcev. Stopnjo strokovnosti in točnost izvedbe svetovalnih storitev. Uporabo preverjenih metod in orodij za zagotavljanje prehoda podjetja in ustrezna podpora pri migraciji. Sposovnost zagotavljanja skladnosti z zahtevami področja in zakonodaje.

5/ Najboljši primer izboljšanja učinkovitosti podjetja z uporabo storitev v oblaku

Kategorija je namenjena podjetjem, ki so med prvimi uvedla storitve v oblaku in posledično občutno povečala svojo učinkovitost. Ocenjevale se bodo predvsem dosežene koristi z uporabo storitev v oblaku, kot so: dosežena stroškovna prednost pred konkurenti, večji dobiček ter večja produktivnost.


Za nagrado EuroCloud Slovenija se lahko prijavijo vsa podjetja, ki imajo sedež v Sloveniji. To pomeni, da mora imeti podjetje svoj sedež oziroma vsaj eno pisarno v Sloveniji, njihove rešitve pa morajo biti prisotne na slovenskem trgu. Podjetja, ki kandidirajo za nagrado v kategoriji “Start-Up”, ne smejo biti dejavna na slovenskem trgu več kot 3 leta. Članstvo v EuroCloud Slovenija ni pogoj za sodelovanje.


Žirija bo izmed prijav v prvem krogu izbrala do 4 finaliste za vsako kategorijo.V drugem krogu izbora bo med finalisti izbran prejemnik nagrade Eurocloud Slovenija za vsako kategorijo.

Finaliste in nagrajence določijo ocenjevalci, katerih odločitev je dokončna. Odločitev žirije bo objavljena po izteku prijavnega roka na Če bodo v posamezni kategoriji manj kot tri prijave, si organizatorja pridržujeta pravico, da nagrade za to kategorijo ne podeli.

Nagrajeno podjetje oziroma rešitev bosta prejela plaketo ter znak Nagrade Eurocloud Slovenija v elektronski obliki za uporabo na svojih spletnih straneh. Nagrajene storitve oziroma podjetja bodo kandidati za Nagrado Eurocloud Evropa in bodo predstavljene septembra na Evropskem kongresu EuroCloud, 6 oktobra v Bukarešti (prijave na

Vsi prijavitelji imajo pri oblikovanju svoje predstavitve proste roke, vendar vas prosimo, da ocenjevalcem posredujete le najpomembnejše informacije. Naj bo iz vaše prijave jasno razvidno, zakaj si vaša storitev zasluži nagrado.

Prosimo, da pripnete le eno datoteko, ki vsebuje kratek profil in korporativno predstavitev. Sprejemamo samo PDF datoteke, ki niso večje od 10 MB in katere velikost ne presega 15 strani.


Prijava za nagrado EuroClouda Slovenija je brezplačna. Dobitniki nagrad EuroClouda Slovenija bodo imeli možnost sodelovanja pri podelitvi nagrad EuroCloud Evrope. Prijava v EU tekmovanje se zaračunava.

European Cloud Initiative-NEW in 2016

On 19th of April the European Commission published its European Cloud Initiative as part of its Digital Single Market strategy. The European Cloud Initiative proposes a number of actions to make Europe a leader in the data economy, by creating the incentives and tools for sharing and re-using data as widely as possible, and to create a strong cloud and data infrastructure in Europe. A key part of this impact is the change in the way scientific research is carried out, as we move rapidly towards Open Science. EuroCloud will take actions to get this activity heavily supported within our countries.

EuroCloud Europe kongres 2016

Matej prosim če gre sporočilo kot napoved dogodka:

1. Postanite podporni član EuroCloud Europe-glej TU

Podporni član pridobi možnost, da postane del aktivnosti, ki jih za nas v letošnjem letu izvaja marketinška agencija (glej terminski načrt)

V letošnjem letu bomo izvajali intenzivno komunikacijo preko vprašalnikov z namenom, da povežemo mnenja naših članov in podpornikov in na ta način aktivno posežemo v področja delovanja oblačnih storitev v Evropi, skladno z aktivnostmi EU komisije  Podporni člani bodo vključeni v vprašalnike in pridobili rezultate anket. Še več, njihove storitve bodo izpostavljene v poročilo, ki ga pripravljamo ob EuroCloud Forum 2016 in bo razdeljeno preko 8000 udeležencem (s pomočjo kolociranega dogodka IMWORLD). Nacionalni zmagovalci EuroCloud Award tekmovanja 2016 bodo vključeni v komunikacijo avtomatsko.

2. Vsak ponudnik storitve računalništva v oblaku lahko postane sponzor  EuroCloud Europe-glej TU

Sponzorji bodo pridobili možnosti aktivnejšega sodelovanja z našo organizacijo in sodelovanja na ključnih področjih evropskega sektorja računalništva v oblaku: vloga računalništva v oblaku pri izgradnji  Digitalnega Enotnega Trga, pospeševanje uporabe računalništva v oblaku v različnih industrijskih področjih  kot npr. v javni upravi, izzivih pri odpravljanju prehoda iz državnih v meddržavne ponudnike, zagotavljanje varnosti v okviru držav članic EU, itd.
Sponzorji bodo na ta način omogočili naši organizaciji nadaljne raziskave tega področja in boljšo prepoznavnost te industrije pri uporabnikih teh tehnologij.

StarAudit izobraževanje 2016

Screen Shot 2016-05-18 at 09.14.49V okviru drugega cikla izobraževanj vas vabimo na izobraževanje na Center Poslovnega Usposabljanja CPU, ki v sodelovanju z Zavodom e-Oblak (EuroCloud Slovenija) in  GZS-združenje ZIT ter Združenjem StarAudit z naslovom ”Star-Audit Training«, ki bo potekalo na Centru za poslovno usposabljanje v Ljubljani, 20.-22 septembra 2016 (vabilo TU).

Prijave zbiramo na (do konca julija nudimo 15% popust):

StarAudit akreditira posameznike (AA/AC/AT/AB/FD/PF,IA) kot tudi organizacije (ACH/AEB/ACO/ATO/AAO[1]). Akreditacije so veljavne samo, če so objavljene na spletnem mestu organizacije StarAudit. Star Audit je primeren za podjetja, ki v svojo ponudbo vključujejo storitev s področja IKT infrastukture v oblaku (IaaS), storitev IKT razvojnega okolja v oblaku (PaaS) ter programske opreme, kot storitev v oblaku (SaaS). StarAudit pregled je online storitev, ki jo ponuja StarAudit ponudnikom storitev računalništva v oblaku, StarAudit revizorjem ter učiteljem in konsultantom za izvajanje kontrole kvalitete storitev računalništva v oblaku.

Vsebine izobraževanj

1/ Ambasador (1/2 dneva)-14.junij:

  • obvladovanje osnov zagotavljanja kakovosti računalništva v oblaku in ključni dejavnikov za
zagotavljanje kakovosti pri StartAudit certificiranju;
  • pregled pogojev in potrjevanje za StarAudit Ambassador Foundation strokovnjaka.

Na koncu izobraževanja pridobi udeleženec certifikat StarAudit Ambassador.

2/ Foundation specialist (1/2 dneva)-14.junij – predpogoj znanj – pridobljen status Ambassador:

  • obvladovanje osnov zagotavljanja kakovosti računalništva v oblaku in ključni dejavnikov za
zagotavljanje kakovosti pri StarAudit certificiranju;
  • pregled pogojev in potrjevanje za StarAudit in Foundation strokovnjaka;
  • delo na konkretnih primerih praks z uporabo StartAudit orodji.

Na koncu izobraževanja pridobi udeleženec certifikat StarAudit Foundation Specialist.

3/ Professional (1 dan)-15.junij-predpogoj znanj – pridobljen status StarAudit Foundation Specialist

  • obvladovanje osnov zagotavljanja kakovosti računalništva v oblaku in ključni dejavnikov za
zagotavljanje kakovosti pri StarAudit certificiranju;
  • ključni dejavniki vrednotenj v javnih razpisih;
  • pregled pogojev in potrjevanje za StarAudit in Professional strokovnjaka;
  • delo na konkretnih primerih praks z uporabo StarAudit 

Na koncu izobraževanja pridobi udeleženec certifikat StarAudit Proffesional.

4/ Revizor (1 dan) -15.junij- predpogoj znanj – pridobljen status StarAudit Proffesional

  • obvladovanje osnov zagotavljanja kakovosti računalništva v oblaku in ključni dejavnikov za
zagotavljanje kakovosti pri StarAudit certificiranju;
  • ključni dejavniki vrednotenj pri revizijah;
  • pregled pogojev in potrjevanje za StarAudit in Auditor strokovnjaka;
  • delo na konkretnih primerih praks z uporabo StarAudit

Na koncu izobraževanja pridobi udeleženec certifikat StarAudit Auditor.

Komu je izobraževanje namenjeno?

  • Računalniškim inženirjem, vodjem informatike ali vodjem IKT oddelkov:
    • z namenom, da postanete notranji svetovalec v podjetju pri izboru in ocenjevanju primernih storitev računalništva v oblaku s pomočjo orodij, ki jih razvija StarAudit.
  • Zaposlenim pri ponudniku storitev računalništva v oblaku:
    • z namenom ugotavljanja razkoraka med trenutnim stanjem in željenim stanjem ponudbe ter zagotavljanjem nivoja kvalitete oblačnih storitev.
  • Zaposlenim v različnih oddelku znotraj podjetja, kot so oddelki poslovnega razvoja, naročanja, prodaje, pravnih oddelekov:
    • z namenom boljše priprave razpisnih pogojev pri iskanju ponudnikov storitev računalništva v oblaku.
  • IKT svetovalcem:
    • z namenom pridobivanja znanja o StarAudit orodij, a katerimi je možno vzpostaviti procedure pri vaših strankah za pravilno izbiro ponudnikov storitev računalništva v oblaku.
  • IKT ponudnikom izobraževanj:
    • po dvodnevnem izobraževanju in opravljenem testu in zaključenem procesu akreditacije lahko opravite izpit za StarAudit učitelja in kasneje samostojno izvajate StarAudit izobraževanja.
  • Revizorjem:
    • po trodnevnem izobraževanju in opravljenem testu testu in zaključenem procesu akreditacije lahko opravljate dela internega StarAudit revizorja ali zunanjega StarAudit revizorja (zunanji StarAudit revizor mora biti član StarAudit revizorske organizacije in mora opravljati revizije samo v okviru delovanja revizorske organizacije).

InnoRenew CoE With excellence in research, innovation, and application into economy and society, the new Centre of Excellence, Renewable materials and healthy environments research and innovation centre of excellence (InnoRenew CoE) will improve sustainable building practices by combining the existing concepts with the Restorative Environmental Design (RED) paradigm, which combines sustainable building practices with biophilic design. This will increase the competitive advantages of the affiliated renewable resource-based construction industry, and create innovation and market pull for RED-based materials and products (holistic living environment). Consequently, innovation and market pull for material recovery and higher added value renewable resource based and energy carriers will be initiated. Research and development activities will seek the optimal intersection of performance and sustainability, including economic, environmental and societal indicators. With support and guidance from the advanced partner, Fraunhofer WKI, scientific research and development activities will be transferred profitably and efficiently to the industry and through them to society in the form of innovative new products and processes. SalCa Parallel applications spend a large amount of their processing time just on synchronising data between threads. Much of this communication is actually not necessary from the mathematical point of view – meaning that the correctness of the calculations would not be seriously affected if the data would not have been communicated. This is used to improve the workload-to-communication ratio e.g. in CFD and PlasmaPhysics. Encoding and exploiting such mechanisms is difficult and not only requires expert knowledge about parallel programming, but about the algorithm and in particular about the underlying mathematics. SalCa provides a programming environment, ranging from development to runtime monitoring, for new, unconventional programming approaches. The approach builds up from functional and data-flow programming, combined with the efficiency of imperative programming (C/C++) to exploit mathematical “intention” behind an algorithm. Using this mathematical information, SalCa will be able to assess the accuracy of an algorithm and compare it with the necessary correctness, and offer new methods and algorithms to alter accuracy in a controlled fashion, so as to improve communication, synchronization dependency, scalability, and thus performance, but also reduce energy consumption. We will show how the same principles can be used for efficient data restructuring and increased parallelism. SalCa will thereby contribute considerably to the foundational knowledge on theoretical computer science, offering new mathematical and algorithmic approaches to solve extreme scale, extreme data mathematical problems.The programming environment will try to achieve maximum compatibility with legacy code, respectively reduce the effort needed for adaptation to a minimum. The capabilities of SalCa will be demonstrated through a large scope of reference use cases from various scientific and commercial fields, including in particular Biochemisty, Multi-Physics and Engineering simulation. e-health
bigMESH Current platforms and software models do not suffice for the degree of distribution and connectivity required by the IoT. Complexity currently has to be addressed completely manually on the level of implementation as well as deployment. Considering this high degree of manual intervention and the complexity of adaptation, the effort for moving towards new markets and targeting new usage requirements is obviously way beyond mere code maintenance. Consequently, the true costs are much higher than already required for maintenance. bigMESH addresses these challenges by strongly advancing towards (de)composabilty of software that enables dealing with the heterogeneous and distributed environment. In order to achieve that, this proposal pursues the triple-I (Information, Incentive, Intention) model which aims at full decomposability, repurposing and distribution of software by exploiting semantic interoperability. This caters for a large scope of use cases and large range of various different device types. This model does not increase the development overhead compared to traditional software development. In addition, minimal additional effort is needed for correct “formatting” of the algorithms and providing data structure information etc. On the upside, maintenance cost increases way slower than for current models, thus generating a major long-term cost saving leading to higher return on investment, as well as a drastically reduced time to market.bigMESH achieves this through its underlying framework, which exposes the whole heterogeneous infrastructure as a seemingly homogeneous hosting environment. In order to do so, bigMESH exposes an “executable data function logic” beyond Turing which determines the application logic on low-level, fine-grained functional blocks, as well as their location. Due to the programming model offered by bigMESH, the application and its configuration can be dynamically changed at runtime, e.g. in order to react to context-specific events. IoT platforms
eEVOLve The key goal of eEVOLve consists in providing an overarching framework for controlling and distributing energy that is not only tied to fixed locations (such as in the case of prosumers) but that is mobile and has flexible characteristics – a dual nature. The eEVOLve system thus combines aspects from three major pillars: planning the “energy logistics”, managing the energy distribution and “plugging in” the sources / consumers. The main concept behind the project consists in the general knowledge / idea that a holistic approach to the energy management system is necessary …. As studies in the Netherlands have shown, most cities are simply not ready for a complete switch to smart cities and electric vehicle: the total consumption of electric vehicles simply overloads the infrastructure leading to a complete break-down. To overcome this problem means first of all to distribute the energy more intelligently over time and space, so that no single point of overload starts to arise within a city (or even country). This is however not so simple: energy distribution should not only depend on the producer’s availability, but also on when and where energy will be needed next. The problem of balancing consumption and production has become central with the objectives set forth by the SET plan, to increase share of energy produced by RES in the energy mix; which led to a restructuring of the electricity market in Europe from a vertically integrated to a vertically decomposed system. This brought the market concept into energy production and consumption, which in turn opened the doors to using adaptation on demand (consumption and production) as an important technology in balancing problems and optimization of energy use. energy efficiency
MUNINN Muninn will provide a fully integrated framework and toolset to extend any cultural heritage site or museum with a virtual education and entertainment system that will attract visitors and scientists alike, provide them with personalized information related to their expertise and interest, guide their experience and facilitate their further education and continuation of the experience in a fun and informative fashion. Muninn thus addresses the full lifecycle (before, during, after) of a visitor or a potential visitor to cultural sites, museums, cities etc. and will even go beyond the primary cultural heritage sites, integrating touristic recommendations related to the experience to provide a full experience on the topic, including e.g. book shops for further information or restaurants with original regional food etc. The whole experience is thereby fully tailored to the user, adapting on the fly on basis of interest exhibited during the visit. The Muninn framework offers a fully immersive experience that allows users to inspect exhibited artefacts close-up and in detail that would not be allowed on site – even from remote locations. Thus Muninn is not only of interest for the average visitor, but to scientists, researchers and scholers alike. In fact, Muninn allows users to generate their own museums and build scientific publications on the framework. The project thereby addresses constraints and business considerations, including data protection and infrastructure limitations in less developed regions. Realising a Muninn based museum will thereby be cheap and simple, as Muninn facilitates the easy generation and provisioning of complex (virtual) museum content, including 3d models, tagged specific and general descriptions, as well as multimedia data. Muninn allows museums to attract more visitors, increase souvenir sales, gather feedback on the museum or site, and make the visit an entertaining and educative experience to the visitor. augmented reality&cultural heritage
MODERN-CONCERT MODERN-CONCERT will build upon the open source certification framework developed by the EU F7 project CUMULUS. This framework developed to support the certification of a wide spectrum of security properties of different types of cloud services (at infrastructure, platform and software level) based on alternative, complementary types of evidence, including testing and dynamic monitoring data and trusted platform information. The CUMULUS framework realizes a model driven approach to certification in which both the collection and analysis of evidence that is required for the assessment of security properties that constitute assurance profiles, and the generation and management of digital certificates for such properties are driven by certification models. These models define the target of certification, the security properties to be assessed, the types of evidence that should be collected for the assessment of these properties, the ways of analyzing this evidence, and the process through which certificates can be generated and managed once the evidence is sufficient. Based on the execution of such models, the CUMULUS framework automates the security assessment and certificates management process and enables continuous certification. It also does so in a fully customizable manner, as the users of the framework can define their own certification models based on the target of certification that are of interest to them and the assurance profiles that they want to adopt as part of the certification process. open source certification framework
BoxControl The overall objective of the BoxControl project is that organization and setup of a complex system of smart CPS occurs autonomously considering the following aspects: – Specific constraints and capabilities of this system of CPS and of the environment – The user’s wishes and requirements regarding the output of the system Therefore, BoxControl provides an infrastructure enabled by a Virtual Factory Middleware supporting autonomy of systems and ensuring controllability at the same time. Corresponding key features are:1 – A dialog-based user interface to provide a top-level intuitive entry point into the network of autonomous and distributed systems for system configuration and setup; 2- Local intelligence instances to ensure strict fulfilment of existing constraints and to bring the requirements of the product configuration with the capabilities of the CPS into accordance; 3- The control boxes in combination with a configuration and code repository to ensure characteristics of a modern ICT system – hiding of system complexity, simplification of programming and design, encapsulation for safety and security etc. The BoxControl approach helps to overcome the current drawbacks regarding technical systems, e.g. production systems. Here, configuration and workflows are defined by specialists and the setup of these systems needs a lot of time and effort as all system interaction and behavior is manually configured during the planning, engineering and commissioning phases. With BoxControl we reduce these efforts as we enable tools and systems being smart CPS with the ability for decision-making and interconnection. The achievement of the presented objectives will be evaluated by means of four case studies provided by the consortium’s industrial partners. SmartFactory
IMPACT In the increasingly common situation of governments being expected to deliver better and more public services for less cost whilst maintaining executorial governance the Transformational Government approach provides means for designing and delivering an effective program of technology-enabled changes at all levels of government. IMPACT facilitates the movement towards a cloud-based services platform, in search for a wider adoption of cloud computing in governmental applications, both for the front-end (applications delivered to the user) and back-end (applications used to create citizens’ applications) across all parts of government, procuring efficiency gains and organizational agility while at the same time enabling better, citizen-centred and focused service delivery. For this, IMPACT provides public administrations with a set of tools, techniques and best practices to foster the adoption of cloud computing as well as to improve the maturity level of cloud adoption in public administrations, allowing to transition their own software and services to implement on one hand, a more efficient internal software to be used by the public sector and on the other hand, services that implement what really matters to the citizens and how it really matters by ensuring data portability, data privacy and interoperability. By adopting these tools, IMPACT enables PAs to implement the Transformational Cloud Government (TCG), supporting a managed, citizen centric, Cloud based public services modernization, putting the needs of citizens and businesses at the heart of that process. Three use cases will be conducted in 3 European public administrations covering the specific need of local (City of Riga), regional (IP) and national (Ministry of Public Administration -Slovenia) governments across Europe. Feasibility and commercial potential of the IMPACT deliverables will be implemented, trialed, and benchmarked against pilot driven business cases and evaluation metrics. readyStartCLOUD readyStartCLOUD addresses the specific challenge of the ICT-06-2016 innovation side, namely fostering the provision and adoption of competitive, innovative, secure and reliable cloud computing services by SMEs and public sector organisations across Europe. As the readyStartCLOUD consortium already contributes to competitive, innovative, secure and reliable cloud computing technologies individually, the joint effort within readyStartCLOUD leverages synergies in order to provide an excellent technological base for dissemination. Any technological development is aligned with the needs set by the target groups, methodologically surveyed and analysed. The realized use case demonstrators highlight how those needs are met and which benefits readyStartCLOUD brings to the respective target audience. readyStartCLOUD is creating and composing a set of artefacts which promote a vendor-neutral community-driven European cloud computing approach as a counterweight to prevalent centralized public cloud computing platforms of gigantic US companies. FuturIT The Future Internet Accelerator (FuturIT) aims to open FIRE innovation effort to everyone with new collaboration and business models between the existing FIRE testbeds, the cities, the commercial operators, SMEs and startups, following citizen-driven initiatives. Based on the FIRE+ Strategy and Innovation roadmap designed in WP2 and the Collaboration Models & partnership activities implemented in WP3, the project will set up a highly interactive platform provided by CityOS in WP4, where real Future Internet actions and projects will be demonstrated, rated, featured and expanded. What is distinctive in our approach is the overarching motivation to create real changes and impact, taking FIRE+ opportunities to 89 cities and 150 living labs worldwide. With the FuturIT platform we would like to orchestrate a very exciting leading edge technology collaboration between at least 3000 users from academia, existing EU projects, cities, SMEs and startups. In this ecosystem we see there is a huge need for synergetic initiatives that explain to anyone the latest FIRE+ results and how to join this initiative. FuturIT embraces and builds upon the amazing achievements from Open & Agile Smart Cities (OASC), the first global city network where open data and interoperable solutions are being shared on a large scale. With this proposal, the consortium aims to boost networking activities around OASC that perfectly conveys the FIRE+ methodology to cities. FuturIT team includes open data standardisation experts (Imperial College), civic minded startup incubators and VCs (Civic Tech Amsterdam, Inveready), and extensive FIRE community engagement partners (Aarhus, CityOS, Eurocloud and ENoLL). As a follow up to the Cloud28+ in Action! Event in Brussels on the 30th of September, Andrea Monaci – from the Cloud28+ program team- officially signed the partnership with Eurocloud at the Eurocloud Forum in Barcelona, Spain on the 8th of October 2015. The ECSA – a fully independent cloud certification scheme – now provides Cloud28+ members with an accountable quality rating for cloud services, making it easier for enterprises and SMEs to select the right services for their needs.
