The  EuroCloud Awards are aimed at providers of cloud services that are active on the market, and will once again, for the second time, award the most innovative and influential providers in 2012. The winners of the Eurocloud Awards will also be given the chance to compete at a European level against other winners from other EuroCloud countries.
This year a new award under the category ‘Cloud Service Users’ will be awarded to recognise those companies adopting cloud services and benefiting from their use in practice.

Categories for Cloud Service Providers:  

Best Cloud Service Product

This open category caters to cloud services, taking into account their specific characteristics, and the best requirements for achieving wide market acceptance. Special characteristics will be determined by looking at the functionality offered through strong connectivity and interoperability of the service, or a particularly effective use of required data center resources. Of course it will also have to comply with the requirements regarding data security and privacy. Compliance is a fundamental condition for applicants.

Best Start-Up

We are looking for start-up companies distinguishing themselves with innovative and future-oriented cloud services. A particular focus is given to the originality and creativity of the solution.

Best Case Study Commercial Sector

In this category, we will be looking for concrete examples of applying a service in practice and will examine the underlying business approaches. In addition to the attractiveness of the service offered, the recoverable value and competitive advantage for customers, as well as new and pioneering marketing and sales concepts will also be considered.

Best Case Study Public Administration

We will also be looking for concrete examples of applying a service in practice in this category, and will examine the underlying business approaches. The emphasis is on cloud services for public administration. Together, with the attractiveness of the services offered, we will be assessing the realistic benefits for the public and relevant institutions.

Categories for Cloud Service Users  

Highest Increase in Efficiency Using Cloud Services This new category is for early adopters of cloud services – companies who have successfully deployed cloud services and significantly benefited from their use in practice. The achieved user-benefits that companies have obtained whilst using cloud services will be examined.Those user-benefits can be a percentage of a cost advantage, an achieved competitive advantage, or efficiency gains – such as, for example, through higher productivity or process speed .
